This site collects as little as possible. Here is what it collects, why, and what you can do about it.
Who runs this site
Armstrong Local is run by 1337376 B.C. Ltd., a British Columbia company operating as Duford Digital. 1337376 B.C. Ltd. is responsible for the personal information this site collects. Acorn Websites, our web design service, is part of the same company.

What we collect
When you send a listing request, a claim, or a correction, we receive the details you type: your name, business details, email address, phone number, and message. The form is processed by Cloudflare, which passes your message on to our inbox.
The form also has a box you can tick if you want help with your own website. If you tick it, Acorn Websites may contact you about web design. Acorn Websites is part of the same company that runs this site. If you leave the box blank, we will not contact you about it.
When you buy a paid listing, Stripe processes your payment. We receive your name, email, billing details, and what you bought. We never see or store your full card number.
Our hosting provider records standard server logs, such as IP addresses and the pages you request. These keep the site running and help stop abuse. Cloudflare Web Analytics counts visits. It sets no cookies.
We use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages people read. It sets cookies in your browser and sends usage data to Google.
When you use the search box, we record the words you typed and how many results came back. This tells us what people look for and cannot find here. Anything that looks like an email address or a phone number is removed before the search is recorded. These searches are recorded in Google Analytics.
We also use Ahrefs Web Analytics to count visits. It sets no cookies and stores no IP addresses.
The fonts on this site load from Google Fonts. Your browser contacts Google to fetch them, which shares your IP address with Google.
Why we collect it
We use what you send to publish and update listings, to answer you, and to keep the directory accurate. We use payment details to bill you and to keep tax records. We do not sell personal information. We do not use it for targeted advertising.
Directory information
Listings show public business information: business name, category, location, phone, and website. We do not publish a personal phone number or email unless you ask us to. If your business is listed and you want something corrected or removed, use the listing page.
Who else handles it
A few companies handle information on our behalf. Cloudflare hosts this site and processes form messages. Stripe processes payments. Google provides analytics and fonts. Ahrefs provides visit counts. Our email provider stores the messages we receive. These companies are mostly based in the United States, so your information may be stored or processed there and be subject to United States law.
How long we keep it
We keep listing requests and messages for up to two years after our last contact with you. Published listings stay up until you ask us to remove them or the business closes. We keep business and tax records for seven years, because tax law requires it. Google Analytics keeps visit data for up to 14 months. Server logs are kept for a short time and then deleted.
How we protect it
We limit who can see your information. We use accounts protected by strong passwords and two-step sign-in. The site runs over a secure connection (HTTPS).
Your choices
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you. You can ask us to correct it or delete it. You can withdraw your consent at any time. We answer within 30 days.
If you live in the United States
We do not sell or share personal information for targeted advertising. We run no ad trackers, so there is nothing to opt out of. Depending on your state, you may have the right to know what we collect, to get a copy, to correct it, to have it deleted, and to opt out. Email us to use these rights. We answer within 45 days. We will not treat you differently for asking.
How to make a complaint
If you have a concern, please tell our privacy officer first. We will look into it and reply in writing. If you are not happy with our answer, you can complain to the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia at oipc.bc.ca.

We update this page when what the site collects changes. Last updated October 13, 2026.
