  • Armstrong Christmas Tractor Parade 2025

The Armstrong Christmas Tractor Parade is a bright holiday tradition in Armstrong, BC. Local farmers bring out tractors and other machinery and cover them with Christmas lights. The result is a long line of glowing vehicles that move through town at dusk. The parade brings families out to watch from driveways, sidewalks, parks, and quiet rural roads. It is one of the most loved events of the season

    Event details

Name: Armstrong Christmas Tractor Parade 2025

    Date: Tuesday, December 23, 2025

    Start Time: 5 PM

Start Location: Armstrong IPE Fairgrounds, 3315 Pleasant Valley Rd, Armstrong, BC V0E 1B0

    Event time and starting point

The 2025 parade will take place on December 23. The tractors start to line up at the IPE Fairgrounds at 5 PM. The parade moves at a steady pace and does not stop for long breaks. No one walks alongside the tractors, so families need to stay clear of the route and keep children well back from the road. Visibility for drivers is limited at night, and the parade moves faster than a normal walking parade.

There is also a clear rule from the organizers: no candy. No candy is thrown. No candy is handed out. This keeps the road safe for everyone. Bring your own snacks and hot chocolate!

    Armstrong Christmas Tractor Parade route

The route usually appears on Facebook a few days before the event. The 2025 route follows the general pattern used in recent years. It includes a loop through Armstrong and a second loop through Enderby before returning to Armstrong.

    Armstrong loop

The tractors begin at the IPE fairgrounds and make a full loop through the grounds. They pass the Co-op Gas Bar, continue toward the fire hall, and travel down the one-way street past Shephards. They pass the fairground main gate again, then move uphill past Memorial Park. The tractors circle the brick school before turning onto Rosedale Avenue and heading toward the highway.

This part of the route gives many Armstrong families a chance to watch from home. Some people stand outside their houses. Others set up lawn chairs or sit inside with lights off so they can see the glow through the windows.

    Highway section and rural roads

After leaving town, the tractors move along the highway toward McLeod Subdivision. They continue along Mountain View Road and then follow Back Enderby Road, which gives many rural residents a chance to watch from their driveways.

This part of the parade is memorable. Long stretches of dark road make the lights stand out even more. Many families wait outside with hot chocolate and wave as the tractors pass by.

    Enderby loop

The parade then enters Enderby. The tractors follow Old Vernon Road to the hockey rink. They pass by the high school, cross the highway at Knight Avenue, and turn onto Sicamous Avenue. From there, the line of tractors leaves Enderby and makes its way back toward Armstrong.

Enderby has become an important part of the parade. The town waits for the glow of the tractors each year, and many residents now plan their holiday gatherings around the event.

    Community spirit and safety

The Armstrong Christmas Tractor Parade is run by farmers and volunteers. It is not a commercial event. It is a gift to the community. Local families appreciate the time, fuel, and work that go into preparing each tractor. Many farms now take part every year, and new farms often join.

The organizers ask people to stay back from the road. Large tractors and trucks have blind spots, and it can be hard for drivers to see crowds, pets, or children in the dark. Staying well back keeps the event safe and calm for everyone.

    A special holiday tradition

The 2025 parade marks another year of a simple but powerful tradition. Bright tractors. Quiet roads. Families gathered in small pockets of light. The event brings Armstrong and Enderby together at a time of year when people look for community, warmth, and signs of hope.

It is a night to watch, wave, and enjoy the lights.

  • 6 Thrift Stores in Armstrong, BC

Armstrong, BC is home to many wonderful thrift stores, second-hand shops, and consignment clothing boutiques. Here are 6 of the best thrift shops and second-hand stores to check out in Armstrong.

    Bargain Bin Thrift Store

The Bargain Bin Thrift Store in Armstrong, BC is a shopping destination for locals and visitors alike. Renovated in 2020, this downtown mainstay includes a large clothes section, a kids clothes/toys area, and a housewares department. The Bargain Bin is a charity shop operated and staffed by the local Healthcare Auxiliary volunteers. Proceeds support local health initiatives like the Vernon hospital, as well as other community investments such as student scholarships.

Sales are common at the Bargain Bin, but are rarely announced in advance. It may depend on which volunteers are opening up the shop on any given day. It’s not uncommon for one area of the store to be 50% off though. The holy grail of Bargain Bin sales is the dollar-bag sale, in which you pay a set price (such as $5) for a grocery bag full of clothes of your choosing. Keep your eyes out for sales!

The Bargain Bin in Armstrong accepts donations of clean, quality used clothes and housewares. Donations are currently accepted only on Tuesday and Friday, during operating hours. Signs generally indicate whether or not to use the Donation Door (pictured above) at the front of the building (or the utility door behind the shop). Please don’t leave donations here unless they meet quality guidelines and are dropped off during indicated times.

Here’s where to find the Bargain Bin:

Location: 3445 Pleasant Valley Road, Armstrong, BC
    Phone: (250) 546-8813
    Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/bargainbinarmstrong/

    Kindale Armstrong Thrift Store

The Kindale Thrift Store is a non-profit charity shop in downtown Armstrong. Located close to the consignment shops, this thrift store is known for its excellent stock of housewares, kids toys, and one-of-a-kind items. Proceeds go to the Kindale Developmental Association, which helps people with disabilities (mainly adults) create and live meaningful lives in an inclusive community.

Prices at the Kindale Thrift Store are generally excellent, and its always worth checking to see if they have anything new (well, new-to-you!). I’ve found things I’ve been looking for (like heart-shaped cookie cutters) at this thrift shop after having no luck at the other shops in town. Then other days I strike out! The Kindale thrift shop also accepts donations, but only during operating hours (follow the posted signs).

Here’s where to find the Kindale Thrift Store:

Frugal Frocks has a lovely vintage section hidden away in a closet (it even has its own change room!). There’s lots to look at, including little knick-knacks, collectibles, and the odd fun retro household item. If you’re looking for something unique, Frugal Frocks is the place to start!

Frugal Frocks is located in the historic downtown area of Armstrong, across from the Branding Iron Pub. Here’s the location details:
